Vidyavardhaka Sangha, the Educational Society which has been managing the College has always aimed at spreading education among the rural people who are the backbone of the country. It has always believed that the salvation of any country depends directly on its education system. Hence its name “Vidyavardhaka Sangha”. rendering selfless service and maintaining quality are the religion of the promoters of the Sangha and their guiding principle is the adage:
“When Wealth is lost, nothing is lost
When Health is lost, something is lost
When Character is lost, everything is lost”.
The new college building with all the required facilities was inaugurated by His Holiness Sri. Sri. Vibudhesha Tirtha Swamiji of Admar Mutt at the function held on the tenth day of March 1990 under the presidentship of Sri K. Amarnath Shetty, Ex-Minister, Government of Karnataka.
Permanent Affiliation has been granted to the College by the Mangalore University and the institution is recognized by the U.G.C., New Delhi and has been included in the list of 2(F) and 12(b) of the U.G.C.Act.
The College was accredited with ‘B’ grade (70-75 marks) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 2004.
It is reaccredited in 2010 with ‘B’ Grade (CGPA of 2.33 on four point scale) by the National Assessment and Accreditation.
In the third cycle of reaccreditation in January 2017, the College has secured “B++” Grade (with 2.77 CGPA) from NAAC.
To promote sports and games activities, a separate wing - KREEDA BHAVAN – with all indoor games facilities has been constructed for the use of the students and people.
The College is located in a peaceful and serene surrounding. The building and other facilities of the College are spread out in about 15 acres of expanse. The campus provides an ideal atmosphere for education.
The College has completed more than four decades of fruitful service in the field of higher education and has celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the academic year 2004-05
